A Great Week!

January 28, 2013

Familia,

Wow we really had a great week!! We had 5 investigators in the sacrament meeting! So that was awesome! Because that is what we had been struggling on lately, getting people to come to church, so we have been making a few changes and President Carter gave me some really good tips and we applied them and we saw the results!! So I am super excited for that!!!
This week we really focused on being more bold and loving with the investigators. We helped them understand the importance of coming to church and the importance of repentance and baptism! We really saw a huge increase in the progression of our investigators. We currently have about 10 investigators who are progressing. And we have a possibility of 10 people to be baptized in the month of February. We are working super hard and the Lord is blessing us tremendously!! We have tons of people to teach and never have free time; we always have something to be doing. I think that is why the time is flying by for me!!! It’s been a really good experience!!!
Haha just a quick side note. The cyber we are in plays English music. Ha normally it’s like old no name music, but recently they played a country song that says Who Says you can’t go home? I want to say it is someone like Rascal Flatts, but I have no idea because I haven’t heard music for a while. Haha
We are currently teaching this family and neighbor whose names and ages are the following. Lautoro 14, Aides 70, Y adaline 84. I call the adaline lady; ABUELA NEGRA Haha because that’s what she wants me to call her. The people in Argentina are super direct and if you’re fat they call you fat or if you’re old they call you old, so Abuela negra in English would probably be offensive, but that’s the culture down here. Haha well they came to church and they absolutely loved it and want to be baptized! They should be baptized at the end of the month. Then Osmar y Mariacelia the parents of Victoria and Gonzalo are trying to get the paperwork done so they can be married and baptized!!
Oh yesterday I talked to Pablo for about 15 seconds!! He is doing well and is in capital! Were hoping he will come back soon! Well im going to be going! We’re going to go eat French toast!!!
Congrats Kade on your talk!!! Your gonna be a heck of a missionary! And good job karigan with your friend!! Good luck everyone with everything! Love you all so much!! Talk to you next week!

"I'm loving the mission more and more"

January 21, 2013

Familia y Amigos,

WOW this week went by really fast, I feel like I was just doing this. I don’t really remember what happened so if I repeat anything sorry Haha.
So yesterday President Carter came to Saladillo at like 1:20 or so to do interviews for the members that need to go to the temple. One of them being Fabiana! She passed! So she is going to be going to the temple the 12th of February! She asked if we could go with her and President said yes because on the 12th we will be having transfers so that means that one of us will most likely be leaving Saladillo on the 12th! Kinda sad, but it’s ok!
We got to talk to President for about 30 minutes just Elder Crowther me and him. That was really good because I have never had that opportunity before! He just told us how happy he and the lord are with us and how hard we are working, and is really surprised how well we are doing because we both are really young in the mission. It was good to hear that because it’s been super stressful here with all the extra things we have to do here.
Well Vanessa and Alejandra were living separated but recently moved in together so they can’t be baptized right away. But that’s ok because they aren’t quite ready. So we talked to them and told them they have to move because they can’t live together if they want to be baptized, and they said ok we will do it! So we are excited for them!!
We had a soccer game activity on Thursday for investigators and members. It was a lot of fun. I played goalie most the time because I can’t really run. Haha
We have been reading the book of Mormon as a mission in Spanish and it has been awesome reading! We have learned a ton of stuff!!  I can’t really think of what else happened this week sorry! I need to write it down so I don’t forget!  Oh did I tell you I haven’t missed a day in writing in my journal since I started the mission?
I’m loving the mission more and more! At times when we get frustrated or anything I just stop and think and the wonderful opportunity I have to be able to help people find the way to become clean of their sins and have happiness in their lives, and have the knowledge that they can live with their family forever! We are Agents of Repentance kind of a cool title if you ask me! Haha I am so grateful for the opportunity to help people and to represent the lord here in Saladillo! Thanks for all of the support!  Love you all!

One Year in the Mission Field!

1 year anniversary in the mission field! Saladillo, Argentina
January 14, 2013

Familia,

Wow I can’t believe that it has been a year since I left on the mission! It has flown by so fast! But at the same time I can’t imagine life as a normal person. They always say the second year is a blurrr. This last week was a blur for me! I feel like I wake up stretch, save the world for a little bit and then go to sleep. Haha it passes by so fast every day.
So I burned an old shirt that Elder Krausse gave me. Elder Crowther took a video instead of pictures so I don’t have many photos, but in a year you can see the video. Haha. I hung the shirt up on the clothesline then lit it on fire. It went up fast and burned the clothesline then fell to the floor....JAJAJ it was so funny.
Well we are doing great here in Saladillo! We have so many people to teach all the time it is difficult to teach them all! We run everywhere trying to find more time to teach people! That is probably why the days go by so fast! So lately we have been working with a family name the Family Blanco. We started working with the son named Kevin. He is 13 and his little brother Alexandra that is 9. Kevin started smoking at age 9! Crazy huh? So were helping him stop. He should be baptized on the 25 as well as his brother. So if you could all pray for them that would be great! Then Kevin introduced us to his uncle and aunt. They are looking for a change and want to be baptized and came to church yesterday! They loved it and we are looking at a baptism for them on the 25th of January as well. We are really excited for them! We are also working with a lot of other people but I don’t have any more time so I have to be going now. I’ll talk to you all next week! Choose the right and I love all of you! Nos Vemos,

Love, Elder Kraymer Todd Eppich

FELIZ ANO NUEVO!

January 7, 2013

Familia,

FELIZ AÑO NUEVO!!!!
Well we started the New Year off well! First of all Elder Crowther and I are going to be working together one more transfer at least!! That’s crazy because neither of us had had companions for more than 1 transfer and now we will have had 3 together at the end of this transfer!!!
We had a good week and found a couple good families as well!! So right now we have a ton of investigators. So many that is hard to be able to visit all of them! Also there is a new rule that we can’t ride bikes on dirt roads, because someone is a little too big for their bike and keeps breaking it, and in efforts to save money we can’t ride on dirt, and we have lots of dirt in our area.. HAHAHA it’s not my fault the bikes here are super small!!!!! Other people as well have broken the bikes, not just me. Haha
So we have this one family the family Blanco that have a lot of potential. We found them the first transfer and recently they have made a lot of progress! We are really excited for that!!! They have a kid named Kevin who is 12 turning 13 on Wednesday that looks like he has 30 yrs old. Haha then there is Alexandro that is 9 and is a big kid. Then their mom Rosalia and the dad Marcelo. They love us and always want us to come over. Only Kevin has come to church but this next Sunday all of them are going to come, and hopefully at the end of this month all of them will be baptized together.
They gave us a reference for their uncle and aunt. Vanessa and Alejandro. They really like what we teach and love the changes they see in the family. They should be baptized at the end of the month as well!!! We just got to help them all come to church!!
The zone leaders came for Friday and Saturday and Sunday. We were doing divisions and Elder Fernandez and I found a Peruvian family that was moving, so we decided to help them move, and then they were super receptive to us and everything, and said they were going to come to church but they never came! We hope that next Sunday they can come!!
We have also been working with a lot of inactive families and they have started to come!! We are hoping to reach 40+ in church before the end of this transfer!!!
We really learned the importance of using the scriptures to teach! The scriptures have so much power! No one cannot read the book and feel the power that it gives! Everyone should read it and be familiar with it! Study in PMG (preach my gospel) about the Book of Mormon. I want to say its chapter 5 but I'm not sure so don’t judge me. Hahaha The Book of Mormon has so many answers to our questions!!! It’s incredible! Read daily!! Love you all so much! Hope all is well! Love ya,

An Awesome Week in Saladillo!

Enzo getting baptized

December 31, 2012

Familia,

What an awesome week we had here in Saladillo!! It all started last Sunday when we went to Ramos Mejia with all of the mission then the following day we went to the temple with the whole mission. It was such an incredible experience to be able to be in the temple. We did all of it in Spanish and the spirit was so strong that I had no problem understanding everything!! It was incredible. I just kept thinking I can’t wait till I can do this with my family, and I hope that every person I teach can have this experience!!! We then returned and had a Christmas program. It was a little different because it was 107 degrees with 100 percent humidity. Haha it was super hot... Then that night all the missionaries in campo stayed in an apartment together. There were 24 of us in an apartment on the 13th floor in Buenos Aires. At 12 o'clock they all went crazy with fireworks, it sounded like a war!!! The next day we returned to Saladillo and went to work on Christmas!!  I had the impression to go to a park here. So we went and saw this little old lady sitting down on a bench. We started talking and teaching here. We come to find out she was all alone on Christmas and had been praying to god that someone could talk to her so she wasn’t alone. She absolutely loved talking to us and said she knows the church is true and asked how she could join the church. So we invited her to be baptized. She said yes. Her only desafio or challenge will be praying to God instead of the virgins and saints. But it should not be a problem. Then afterwards we got to talk to all of you in Skype.. It was an awesome experience!!! It was good to see all of you. It sure passed by super fast!!  The rest of the week we just started trying to get everything good for the baptism of Pablo. But he is currently missing in action and have no idea where or what he is doing. Last he told us he was visiting his kids in ituzaingo. Where he was shot by a shotgun 2 months ago. We are hoping nothing bad happened with him.... If you could keep him in your prayers, he really needs them. But the Lord blessed us with another person to baptize instead. A Little boy of 11 yrs. His name is Enzo and his family is members but he is not. So we committed him to be baptized and his family supported him! His family hadn’t been to church in 3 years and hadn’t talked to the missionaries, but for some reason they opened up with us and we were able to help them back to church. Then Sunday after church Enzo got baptized! Because it was the holidays our group leader hasn’t been here for 2 weeks so we have been in charge with everything. Also we didn’t have people to be witnesses for the baptism so two of the office missionaries came out to help us, Elder Dorius and Elder Steffen. Great missionaries. So we had a really crazy week with a lot of stress. Haha but I definitely learned a lot and I am very grateful for a big Basin City ward and all the blessings that come from it. I am also grateful for the opportunity to learn how the church runs and the importance of every calling. We have currently been doing the duties of every calling that a church should have. I think I have been losing hair. But that ok. I wouldn’t trade it for anything, because I am able to see the blessings every day!! I love all of you and all you do and have done for me!!
Love, Elder Eppich
This is seriously the bike he rides 12 miles a day. He says he thighs are huge but he is skinny everywhere else.

He didn't tell us anything about this car. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't fit into it.
